Ripailles by Stéphane Reynaud
I’ve been very lax in my recommendations of books that should be added to your cookbook shelf. Probably because I recently faced the daunting task of packing up my collection of over 1000 cookbooks – most of them unused and still in clean jackets. However, about a year or so ago, we came upon a truly one-of-a-kind cookbook – fun, alluring, serious about the recipes but not about how to get there. The title translates to feasts and this book will certainly aid in the making of them. Without doing a disservice to the tomes of Julia Child, I think that Ripailles by the French chef, Stéphane Reynaud might just be the only French cookbook you will need to bring a taste of France to your table. Buy it – you’ll laugh, you’ll smile, and you’ll cook!
