Again and again and again I buy too, too much at the farmers market. When you look at these photos of just a few of my purchases this week, you immediately know why I buy. Everything looks so, so luscious – the colors, the textures, the scents all combine to entice. Among the offerings were a new vegetable – for me, at least – a pyramid cabbage which I have yet to cook. I think I will just quarter it and season with some EVO and fresh herbs and char it on the grill. We had purple beans, haricot verts, big juicy sweet onions, a magnificent head of green cabbage (who could resist at $2-), baby patty pan squash, new potatoes, lettuces, little red cipollini onions (turned into red onion marmalade for grilled chicken), blueberries, strawberries, baby white turnips (turned into sort of an Asian turnip pickle – if I can remember how I did it, I’ll pass the recipe on later in the week) and on and on. Thankfully our friends Mikki and Tom were along to help carry the bags!
