A few weekends ago my friend Lynn asked me to make paella. When we were all in San Francisco this past fall, my son, Chris, had served his much-loved paella; a dish he continues to try to master aiming for the perfect crunchy, just below burnt rice bottom. Lynn wanted me to try to replicate Chris’ dinner so I followed his recipe (see The Boys are Back, April 20, 2009 post) and took a stab at the perfect paella. Mine was no where as good as his – to which Chris said “you got better chops than that” but it was pretty darn good. Unfortunately I made enough for 12 instead of the 6 I was supposed to so being inundated with leftovers means that paella won’t be on the menu again for quite awhile. Hope you enjoy the photos, though!
That’s beautiful. All that saffron, yum. And those clams.
it is a delicious recipe – try it –
That looks amazing. You can send the left overs to me!
Would that I could! You’ll just have to try the recipe yourself –
