One of the farmers in our local Sunday greenmarket always features Tristar strawberries when in season. They are quite small as they a cross between tiny wild strawberries and those that have been cultivated. They are a bit pricey – one small box is $5.00 to $7.00 so I usually buy just one to either eat straight from the box or to serve with a little bit of sugar and cream for dessert. This time they were particularly sweet so we just pulled off the stems and gobbled them all up in one quick sitting.
Beautiful photo. Summer is indeed here!
