The charming and, I think, provocative/evocative, paintings of food that you will find throughout notesfromjudieskitchen.com are done by Steve Kolyer whom I have known since he was a wee lad. He worked for me as a teenager and then as a young man when I was a catering chef. Beyond painting as a hobby, he is also the Executive chef for EET restaurant in New York City. But, most of all, he is known and loved as “Uncle Kol”, godfather to our granddaughter, Clara Grace, and great buddy to our grandson, Alexander, and for many, many years good friend and dining companion to our son, Mickey.
